We held a seed and seedling swap at the Linlithgow Climate Challenge AGM in May, passing on bought seed that was surplus to requirements and seedlings that hadn’t found a home. But saving seed from your own plants is an even greener idea, and growing heritage seeds would help keep these strains in use.
Jan 30th East Kilbride Development Trust are running a Seed Swap event, including heritage seeds – good links on website with tips of seed saving etc. They are also looking to expand their network of seed ’guardians’, who grow and save selected seeds in their own gardens.
